Was out with daniel and guys. Since i arrived late, they decided to scrap the trip to Lanlab and went for basketball instead. Me being the clumsy nik that i am, hurt my toe cause i was wearing slippers and yeah basically that's it about me. But what was important was, i just found out we weren't supposed to play basketball after 10.30pm.
we were playing at around 11.20 and this police car came by the roadside, someone snitched on us i guess. he turned on his siren lights and that was his supposed "warning" to us that we weren't supposed to be playing. we stopped and was packing up and while waiting, cheehan and yonglee decided to shoot a few more hoops before we go off. Staff Sergeant whatever-his-name-was came over with a corporal and took down our IC numbers yada yada yada and let us off with a "stern warning". He was very cocky btw.
SO, we were walking to the bus stop and when we reached the stop, we saw a dying dog gasping for air lying on the roadside. It was bleeding from the mouth and wasnt moving, except it was still breathing. We stopped the buses that tried to stop at the bus stop and when we told them to be careful not to run the dog over, they just gave us a non-chalant look and drove off. So we decided we should stop stopping vehicles and we took a LTA cone from a nearby construction site and placed it somewhere near the dog. The cars knew what to do and they shunned the dog.
we called the police hotline (999) at around 11.32 and somehow the officer on the line seemed more interested in the name of my friend and what "offence"(noise pollution) he committed 5 minutes ago, rather than the poor dying animal and potential road hazard. So after about 5 minutes of talking, they promised to check it out. From that time all the way till 12.10, no one came. Talk about effeciency please, the dog was dead by 11.55pm btw.
One thing i dont understand, is how can the police officers not notice the dog when they had been where it was lying just 5 minutes ago when they were shining their siren lights? And apperently they seem to place much more importance on a few boys and girls trying to play a game of ball at 11.20 rather than the dying dog and the potential road hazard that the dog is! Talk about wasting our tax payers' money okay.
Bottom-line; the "world class force" name given to the SPF, bullshit. SPF is nothing but a job generating outlet for cocky people like Staff Sergeant whatever-his-name-was.
